Culinary Tour in Morocco

D1 Arrival in Casablanca

Welcome on your arrival in Casablanca Mohamed VI Airport and transfer to your selected hotel. Overnight BB

D2 Casablanca (B, D).

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit of the foods markets in the Medina including the olives souks and the market of Bab Marrakech . Visit also of the bookstore selling moroccan cookbooks in English. Lunch on own by the sea side before leaving to Rabat, the modern capital of Morocco .check in at your hotel after a
panoramic tour of the City. 17h00 meeting with the moroccan Chef in your Hotel. Learn how to prepare the tagine of chicken with lemon and olives that you
will have for dinner. Overnight BB

D 3 - Rabat-Meknes-Fes (B, L, D)

Drive from Rabat to Meknes, and visit of this former Imperial city built at the end of the 17th century by King Moulay Ismael. The visit includes the Old ramparts, the Moulay Ismael stables, Granaries and House of Water, Bab El Mansour, one of the most beautiful gate in Morocco and the beautiful Moulay Ismael Mausoleum facing the Aguedal basin. Moroccan lunch including a demonstration of Tagine of meatballs and eggs and wine sampling (Meknes is the best known area for producing Moroccan wines.  After lunch drive to Fes,The oldest of Morocco’s imperial cities. Arrive to Fes, Check in a Riad (nice traditional home turned into a guest house) with a special menu from the cuisine of Fes.

D4- Fes (B, L, D)

Breakfast. Departure fo a «culinary tour» of Fes Medina including : Achabin square for spices, Chemaine square for dry fruit, the Joutya for Salt, eggs
and fish, the Kissaria for handwoven textiles and other locally produced goods, then the Henna souk, the Attarine souks for spices, the nearby Maristan and the Attarine Medersa (Koranic school). Light lunch of Moroccan salads and ebabs at your Riad.

Then second part of the visit with Bouanania Medersa, the dyers, the coppersmiths, the Chouara Tannery, the Moulay Idriss Mausoleum, the Nejjarine square and the Nejjarine Foundouq which is now the Wood Museum, ending with a panoramic tour of Fes including : the old ramparts, (South and north towers), the Batha museum, the Mellah and the Royal Palace quarter.
17.30 Back to your Riad for a demonstration of the Chicken Trid that will be your dinner. Overnight BB in your Riad.

D5 - Fes - Marrakech (B, L)

Morning leave to Marrakech across the Middle Atlas mountains, through the village of Immouzzer du Kandar, the lake of Daiet Aoua, Ifrane ski resort in the heart of a cedar forest. Then after Azrou and Khenifra, down the Tadla valley and the rich agricultural area of Beni Mellal where a break is planned for lunch.
A rather long day trip but very enjoyable due to the numerous changes of the scenery: fertile  valleys, mountains and hills, farming areas, or long stretches of pastureland scattered by villages etc... Late afternoon arrival in Marrakech. Dinner on own. Overnight at Hotel.

D6 - Marrakech (B, D)

Breakfast this morning will be at Ecole Hotelière de Marrakech, with a special presentation on Bread and various types of Moroccan crêpes and galettes. Then enjoy a visit of the main monuments of Marrakech : the Koutoubia Mosque, the Bahia Palace and the beautiful Saadian Tombs. Lunch will be on own nearby the Souks. In the afternoon discover the labyrinthine souks with their numerous tiny little shops bustling of activity, and Djemaa El Fna square with its medieval open air entertainment. By 18.00 at Dar Marjana watch and give a hand to the preparation of your own « B’stila » this lovely fluffy and crispy pie, flagship of Moroccan cuisine, that you will enjoy for dinner. Overnight at hotel

D8 - Departure (B)

After breakfast, transfer to Marrakech airport in time for your departure flight.
